Wayne Gretzky's Thousand Oaks Mansion Sells for $17.6 Million
Eric and Joanna Miller purchase the 13,276 sq. ft. SFR from Wayne and Janet Gretzky.

The Gretzkys’ Thousand Oaks mansion, located at 1072 Newbern Ct., was listed for 22.9 million in January 2021. The property was eventually sold for 17.6 million, a 23% discount from the original asking price. The mansion sits on a 6.5-acre lot and features six bedrooms, eight bathrooms, a pool, tennis court, and a guest house.
The buyer, Eric Miller, is the founder and CEO of Avanir Pharmaceuticals, a biopharmaceutical company based in Aliso Viejo, California. Miller and his wife Joanna are known for their philanthropic efforts, particularly in the field of mental health.
The seller, Wayne Gretzky, is a former NHL player and coach, widely considered one of the greatest hockey players of all time. He and his wife Janet have owned the Thousand Oaks property since 2009.
The listing agents for the property were Arvin Haddad and Justin Haddad of The Agency. The buyer was represented by Jordan Cohen of RE/MAX One. The sale of the Gretzkys’ Thousand Oaks mansion is one of the highest-priced residential real estate transactions in the area in recent years, and is a testament to the continued strength of the luxury real estate market.
